Jackie Stewart signed full-size Bell helmet
Full-size Jackie Stewart signed Bell helmet. This period 70s helmet has been expertly painted with the Royal Stewart tartan pattern, to replicate exactly as worn by Jackie Stewart when racing for Tyrrell to win his second and third Formula 1 World Championships.
This is a 1975 Snell rated Bell Star II helmet (not current safety standard), hand painted, hand signed with COA.
Extract from Jackie Stewart - 'Winning is Not Enough'
'Your racing helmet looks very plain', Helen mentioned one day in 1963.
'You think so?'
'Well, I mean, it's just white, isn't it?’
She had a point and, after some discussion, she went out and bought half a yard of Royal Stewart tartan silk, which she stuck around the helmet, and then sealed it with nail polish. It looked really smart.
A donation from the sale of this helmet will go to Racing Dementia, the charity founded by Sir Jackie Stewart to fund research into Dementia.
